Daniel
Azoulay Gallery is proud to present “Natural Phenomena: Horizon
Bound”, featuring outstanding national and international artists
whose works focus upon the human, urban and natural landscape. This
collective show opens on January 24th, 2004 and will run thru February
28th, 2004.
Natural
Phenomena refers to the world of matter and mind as we know it –
the Creation. Natural Phenomena classifies the happenings of the
surrounding world – all that we can see, feel, believe and imagine.
Horizon bound refers either to a limiting space as defined by a
specific boundary or prospective for concept and design headed in
an endless direction of possibilities. This exhibition takes it
name from the latter. There are no boundaries to the photographic
potential. Rather, upon reaching the horizon, better known as the
artist’s message and final perfected image, it is the discovery
of another beckoning in the distance that intrigues the viewer.
This
group exhibition is a revelation of new horizons and as a result,
new thresholds. Artists here have taken the world around us as their
subject and have demonstrated how there are countless innovative
ways of capturing that which is within our everyday as well as our
every reach. The photography and video challenges the viewers to
re-evaluate their thoughts about what is inherent in nature, determined
by circumstance, perceptible by their senses and accepted by observation.
